Bambie on track for Eurovision win as Croatia and Ireland surpass 1.1m views on YouTube

Bambie Thug is on track for a possible Eurovision win as Croatia and Ireland become the first countries to surpass 1.1m views on the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.

The Cork native's performance of 'Doomsday Blue' has racked up 1,240,506 million views on the video sharing platform at time of writing, while Croatia's Baby Lasagna has inched ahead slightly with 1,300,018 views.

However, the video of Bambie Thug's performance has amassed almost 1,000 more comments than Baby Lasagna's, with 8,356 people commenting on 'Doomsday Blue' and 7,151 people commenting on 'Rim Tim Tagi Dim'.

Bambie Thug's odds of winning have risen consistently in the lead-up to the first semi-final and have continued to rise after their haunting and memorable performance in Sweden last night (May 7).

According to Eurovision World, which collects data from bookmakers across Europe, Croatia is predicted to win the contest with a 35% winning chance, followed by Switzerland (17% chance) and Italy (10% chance) as runners-up.

However, Bambie Thug is listed as the fifth most likely winner with a 6% winning chance.

Ukraine is listed as the fourth favourite to win, with an 8% chance.

In the lead-up to the contest, odds on Bambie Thug qualifying for the Grand Final were listed at 14/1, and were slashed after previews of their rehearsal were released.

Bookmakers are now slashing odds on them winning the contest outright from 16/1 to 9/1.
