Ormond Historical Society has today launched their brand new website. The website documents the work and activities of Ormond Historical Society, a local history society based in Nenagh, Co Tipperary – dedicated to promoting the history and heritage of the area. Here you can browse through photos, memories, stories and historical information related to the region.
Ormond Historical Society (OHS) was formed in Nenagh in 1977. They have an active membership in excess of 100 members. They organise six lectures annually, running from October through March and during the summer months they run a minimum of four field trips.
New members are always welcome, to join OHS simply come along to any of their activities, which are advertised in the local press or click on the contact us box at the top of their webpage. They offer Individual, Family and Student membership. Admission to Society lectures is free to members (non-members €10) and field trips are FOC to both members and non-members.
Their most recent lecture on 10 March saw Michael Reynolds give a talk on 'The Hennessy family of Nenagh" and was well-attended in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh.
