Summer Stars reading programme in Cahir was a huge success

The Summer Stars reading programme in Cahir library came to a conclusion last Saturday morning with a fun summer stars medal party for the children, with entertainment provided by Sparky the Clown, alias Paul Kelly.

It started with a magical mystery tour to the location of the new library, which is due to open before Christmas.

The Summer Stars reading programme is designed to keep children in the habit of reading during their school holidays.

They must read 8 books, roughly one a week which earns them a medal and certificate.

Teachers can tell those children that do read books, other than school ones by their imagination, spelling ability and vocabulary. Well done to all of them. A fantastic party was enjoyed by the children and parents too!
