Shane Lowry posts savage Ryder Cup dig under US golfer's Italy holiday pics

Offaly golfer Shane Lowry is still revelling in Europe's recent Ryder Cup win in Rome two weeks ago. 

Lowry was part of the European team that dominated the USA in a memorable 16.5 to 11.5 victory at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club last month.

There was some tension during the event, and at one stage, Shane even had to pull his friend and teammate Rory McIlroy away from a heated argument with one of the US caddies. 

Things have mellowed since and Shane was even able to have a light-hearted dig at USA team member Justin Thomas. 

The US golfer obviously took advantage of his trip to Italy to indulge on a post-Ryder Cup holiday with his wife. Thomas posted a series of pictures from the trip on Instagram with the caption: "Lake Como photo dump. The Italian vacation has come to an end. What a beautiful place!"

Shane Lowry was quick to jump into the comments: "Any pics from Rome?" he asked cheekily to remind Thomas of his team's defeat.

Thomas replied: "Shane it’s been two weeks and was starting to forget..."

Fans were loving the friendly interaction between the pair who will do battle again many times back on the PGA Tour and possibly at the Ryder Cup in New York in 2025.
