TRAFFIC: Here's what you need to know about Tipperary roads this week

Tipperary County Council has implemented a number of temporary traffic management measures in the past week, which are set to continue. Here is what you need to know. 

L-5416 OLD ROAD CASHEL (CASHEL RUGBY CLUB) 

Traffic is limited to one lane using temporary traffic lights on the L-5416 until February 6, 2023. 

The measure is in place between 9am and 5pm to facilitate footpath works. 

R494 AND R496 JUNCTION BALLINA

Stop/go traffic management is in place March 31, 2023, to facilitate construction of the R494 road realignment

Specifically affected is the R494, 220m south of the junction of the R494 and R496 to 220m north of the junction of the R494 and R496, Ballina.

SPEED LIMIT ON THE R494

Additionally, a special speed limit order has been made for the R494 from January 2023 to January 2024. The existing speed limit of 80km/hr is to be reduced to 50km/hr.
