Tom Harrington is presented with a letter from Lions Clubs International to mark his 40 years as a member of Nenagh Lions Club by club president Mariea Flanagan
Former Fianna Fáil councillor Tom Harrington has been honoured for his contribution to Nenagh Lions Club over the past 40 years.
In recognition of his achievement, Tom received a letter from international president Dr Yung YulChoi conferring the Milestone Chevron Award on him.
The letter was presented to Tom at a recent Nenagh Lions Club meeting by local president Mariea Flanagan.
The Chevron award is named after the chevron symbol in reference to a badge or insignia indicating rank or length of service.
“Your commitment to providing many years of service as a member of our association is honourable and commendable, as you have touched the lives of many. From the smallest project to the largest undertaking, your years of service have made an impact in your community,” wrote Dr Yul-Choi.
He said that the ripple effect of Tom’s service had touched the lives of many, and given the opportunity to celebrate, commemorate and continue to serve united in kindness and diversity to make the world a better place.
“I wish you many more healthy and happy years to continue your personal commitment to service,” wrote Dr Yul-Choi.
