Nenagh councillor John Carroll has called for more funding for tertiary roads.
He said some roads need a lot of work and are a “lifeline for local communities” who are being “left behind”.
Cllr Carroll made his comments during a discussion on roads at last week’s sitting of Tipperary County Council.
Fellow Nenagh councillor Ger Darcy supported his call, saying roads in Cloughjordan, Borrisokane and Lorrha “are in a very bad state”.
