SADNESS: Popular Nenagh business couple pass away within days of each other

The village of Puckane outside Nenagh is in deep mourning this week following the passing of one of popular couple Mick and Gretta Slattery, who died within days of each other.

Mick was well-known in the motor trade throughout Tipperary and nationally, having run Slatterys Garage in the village for decades.

Gretta Slattery, (nee Kennedy), Puckane, Nenagh, passed away on May 3 peacefully, at home. 

She was predeceased by her brothers Jimmy and Paddy, and will be sadly missed by her twin sister Una.

Her funeral took place on Saturday in St Patrick's Church, Puckane, followed by burial in Kilodiernan Cemetery

Her husband, Mick, passed away on May 6 peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of University Hospital Limerick.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Gretta and by his sisters and brothers, Susan, Willie, John, Tom and Sighle.

The couple were much loved and will be sadly missed by their loving family, daughter Anne (Staunton); son Michael, son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Mary, his adored grandchildren, Mark, Peter, Claire, Andrew, Rachel, Margaret and Jane, sisters-in-law Una and Eileen, nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbours and friends.

Reposing this  Monday at Keller's Funeral Home, Nenagh, until 7pm. Funeral arriving on Tuesday to St Patrick's Church, Puckane for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in Kilodiernan Cemetery.
