Platinum award winning artist James Kilbane to perform fundraising concert for youth work

James Kilbane: In concert in Shinrone

Folk, country and gospel with singer James Kilbane will give a special performance in Shinrone Community Centre next month in aid of the Brendan cluster of parishes, many of which border Lower Ormond.

The concert on June 2 is aimed at raising funds for the work of the youth ministry in the cluster.

The cluster of parishes wish and hope is to create a vibrant youth group.

This July, a group of young people from the cluster will travel to the World Youth Celebrations in Portugal. This event occurs every four years and was the innovative of the late Pope John Paul.

The concert is the first step of this new initiative as young people need encouragement, support and in particular to affirm hope in their young lives. All the support to this young group of people will be greatly appreciated.

The concert with James Kilbane and guests will included great Irish ballads such as The Fields of Athenry, Danny Boy, Go Lassie Go, alongside many country classics that always have audiences singing along.

James will bring his award winning musicians who will have your feet stomping to great traditional tunes as part of the concert set.

He performed this show for four summer seasons in the holiday town of Westport entertaining visitors from home and abroad. Now James makes this Irish and Country night show available alongside his other gospel concert events to communities and is delighted to be bringing it to Shinrone Community Centre in support of the parishes and the youth ministry there.

James Kilbane is now multi-platinum selling artist who continues to release new music with the changing times on the internet and social media music platforms. He is a well known voice on radio, with his country, folk and Christian albums.

Tickets, €20, to a great night Irish folk, country and gospel with James plus youth ministry guests are now available across the region, from Birr Kilcolman Parish Office, Kinnitty PO, Shinrone PO, Centra Shinrone, Dunkerrin PO, St Brendan's Parish Office, local organisers or direct from 087-7990876.

Doors open at 7pm with the event starting at 8pm.
