Tennis star Serena Williams: Signed to Declan Kelly's company Consello
Tipperary businessman Declan Kelly has landed top tennis superstar Serena Williams for his latest venture Consello.
Consello, which has already signed US football legend Tom Brady to its stable, offers financial services advice and was set up in 2021 following Mr Kelly's departure from Teneo, former sponsors of the Tipperary senior hurling team.
According to a statement by Serena Williams on the Consello website, the 23 times Grand Slam winner said that she had been "extremely impressed with the progress Declan and the entire team at Consello have made since the launch".
She said that the team of senior executives Mr Kelly had brought together was, in her opinion "one of the best in the world already" and she as looking forward to a "long and mutually successful partnership".
According to Consello, Ms Williams will work with its clients and portfolio companies "on various strategic matters".
Ms Williams retired from tennis in 2022.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Consello had signed Alonso Aznar, youngest son of former Spanish prime minister María Aznar.
Also among those at Consello are Oscar Salazar, founding chief technology officer at Uber and Mindy Grossman, former global vice-president at Nike, and former US basketball player Pau Gasol.
