Áine Ryan's Paddy Goes to Petra will be performed in Nenagh Arts Centre
The Bealtaine Festival, Ireland's national celebration of the arts and creativity as we age, is being celebrated throughout the month of May in Tipperary and the Tipperary Arts Office together with the Tipperary Library Service are delighted to wrap up another busy and successful festival in the coming days.
Across the library service, writer and director Gerard Stembridge will look at a selection of famous mature roles in Irish drama beginning at 10.30am on Friday, May 26, in Thurles Library.
It will be an opportunity to see from a variety of angles how Irish playwrights have depicted characters in the older age category with participants encouraged to offer observations and read / perform speeches from these characters.
Artist Lynn Kirkham will lead two workshops on Friday May 26, introducing participants to natural materials and weaving skills, beginning at 10.30am in Roscrea Library and 2pm in Templemore Library.
Melissa Ryan hosts a two-hour beginner acrylic still life workshop at Nenagh Library at 10.30am on Monday, May 29, giving participants a chance to understand basic painting skills and create their own painting.
Rural Ireland meets the Middle East in Paddy Goes to Petra, a play written and directed by Upperchurch’s Áine Ryan, at 1.30pm on Tuesday, May 30 in Nenagh Arts Centre. Tickets include light snacks from 1pm.
