Tipperary fire crews battle gorse fire at Kilcarron bog  as status orange warning issued

Tipperary fire crews, along with a crew from county Galway, battled a fire at Kilcarron bog near Lorrha this Bank Holiday Saturday.

Tipperary crews from Borrisokane and Cloughjordan along with crew from Portumna in county Galway fought the gorse / bog fire. 

The public has been urged not to light fires or have barbecues in woodland areas due to the current high temperatures.

A status Orange alert in relation to forest and woodland fires has been issued by a number of State agencies.
