Nenagh to host stunning Press Photographer of the Year exhibition and presentation

Lovers of the art of photography are in for a treat when an exhibition featuring the winners of this year’s PPAI Photographer of the Year opens in Nenagh Library this Thursday.

The exhibition runs until Wednesday, August2.

This stunning exhibition features over 100 of the best images from Irish press photographers including the 2023 AIB Press Photographer of the Year, Mark Condren, who will launch the exhibition at an illustrated talk in the Civic Offices, Limerick Road, on Wednesday, July 12, at 8pm.

Mark, from Castletownroche in Cork and who works for of the Irish Independent / Sunday Independent, won the AIB Press Photographer of the Year 2023 title at an awards ceremony in Dublin in March.

He has kindly agreed to come to Nenagh to give a talk about his winning portfolio as well as his work as a press photographer in general.

The exhibition brilliantly encapsulates aspects of life in Ireland over the previous year and awards were presented across 10 distinct categories – News, Daily Life and People, Sports Action, Sports Feature, Portrait, Nature and the Environment, Politics, Arts and Entertainment, Reportage and Multimedia in addition to the newly launched AIB Sustainability Award.

The launch and talk by Mr Condron is a unique opportunity to hear from one of the very best in the business and will no doubt be both highly interesting and informative.
