Nenagh Courthouse: Nenagh judge orders probation report on man who acted as 'lookout' during car break-in
A probation report has been sought by Judge Elizabeth MacGrath at Nenagh District Court on a man who acted as a lookout while an accomplice broke into a car in Nenagh.
Noel Power, with an address in Rhebogue Hill, Rhebogue, Limerick, pleaded to theft at Hanly Place, Nenagh, on August 22, 2021.
The court heard that a car had been broken into at 11am that day and items valued at a total of €300 stolen. They hadn't been recovered.
Mr Power’s solicitor, David Peters, told the court that the theft had been a “joint enterprise”.
Mr Power had been with another gentleman and his client had been the lookout while the incident was happening.
The reason the property had not been recovered was because his client would say he didn’t have the property.
The court heard Mr Power had 165 previous convictions, including 20 for theft.
Judge MacGrath adjourned the case to July 27 for a victim personal statement and for a probation report.
