In a team shorn of so many top players, Robert Byrne showed his qualities for Portroe in what was a valiant performance in defeat. He was outstanding at the back for the Lakesiders in the loss to Gortnahoe Glengoole, hitting a mountain of ball and just bringing calmness to a defence which had been torn apart two weeks previously.
