The service ensures that businesses stay informed about planned or unplanned water outages, as well as drinking water restriction advisories, such as boil water notices.

The company said that ignificant investment has already been made to upgrade the water network in Tipperary as part of its continued commitment to ensure a clean, safe and reliable water supply for everyone.

However, they said that there was more work to be done, and ensuring that water services in Tipperary were fit for purpose into the future will require continued high levels of investment over many years.

"Water supply outages, both planned and unplanned, occur from time to time, and we understand these can be disruptive to businesses and their customers," they said.

Uisce Éireann said that its text-based service will enable customers to receive local updates.
