As part of Tipperary County Council’s ongoing initiative to promote Nenagh town as a go-to Christmas destination, there will be a month-long extravaganza of live Christmas entertainment in the town.

Beginning with Light Up Nenagh 2023 this Sunday, November 26, the magic of Christmas will descend upon the town when the Christmas lights will be officially switched on at 5.30pm. Hosted by Tipp FM’s Fran Curry, the entertainment will suit all ages and musical tastes.

Light up Nenagh 2023 will begin at 3pm with JP’s Gigantic Video Disco, Christmas Karaoke, Santa Claus, the Grinch and Paw Patrol among others making a festive appearance. A symphony of characters, costumes, musicians, schools and choirs will be performing live on the main stage. Following the switching on of the lights, the Tree of Remembrance at Nenagh Courthouse will be lit at 6.15pm.

There will be some traffic curtailments in the town with Pearse Street from the Market Cross to the junction with Kickham St closed to traffic from 7.30am until 9.30pm.

Beginning on December 15, the town will feature Christmas at the Castle, Nenagh’s first two-day Christmas festival and market. Complete with family entertainment, stallholders and local vendors this will be a festive experience for all the family taking you on a wonderous walking trail through the illuminated grounds of Nenagh Castle. Here you will experience a wonderful mixture of light displays, projections, interactive elements and music. Entry is free and is suitable for all ages.

The Christmas Experience at Nenagh Castle and Gardens promises to be one of Ireland’s most loved and sought after Christmas events.

There are a limited amount of stall spaces remaining and if you are interested in being part of Christmas at the Castle, contact Nenagh Tourist Office on 087- 187 1932.
