Nenagh gardaí issue crypto currency alert after €150,000 is stolen through fraud

The gardaí in Tipperary want to send out a message to people in relation to various types of fraud that are happening at present.

Crypto fraud is very prevalent at the moment with at least four individuals reporting investing in one way or another in crypto currency and later discovering that they were the victim of fraud.

In total, they were at a loss of over €150,000.

In another type of fraud, known as "email re-direct fraud", a local business was targeted and had its email compromised.

The injured party ended up sending money to an entity whom they thought was their creditor, but transpired to be a fraudster.

The money was later recovered.
