Arrabawn Co-Op applies for planning application to install solar panels at its plant

A Tipperary co-op has applied to Tipperary County Council for planning permission to install solar panels at its plant.

Arrabawn Co-Operative Society Limited in Nenagh has applied for permission for a solar PV panel array consisting of up to 10,000 solar PV panels (c.27,010m2) on ground mounted steel frames on a c.6.33 hectare site, external transformer, power inverter units, underground cable ducts, perimeter security fence, CCTV masts, solar lighting and all associated works at Knockanpierce, Nenagh South.

Tipperary County Council is expected to make its decision on the application towards the end of February.
