Electric cars becoming much more popular in Tipperary according to a new survey

New car registrations up in Tipperary

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) today released their official new vehicle registrations statistics for 2023 and Tipperary has seen a further surge of new car registrations against the 2022 statistics.

An increase of 7.5 percent was recorded when looking into the number of new registrations in the Premier county, with 192 new cars being recorded for the year.

Interestingly, there was also a notable increase in the number of electric cars registered in the county in 2023, with an increase of almost 13 percent being recorded with 378 of these vehicles now registered in Tipperary.

In Ireland as a whole, total new car registrations for 2023 finished at 121,850 at an increase of 16 percent on 2022 (105,398) and up 4 percent on 2019 (117,109).
