Patients in Tipperary without a bed as high trolley figures reported in the area

115 patients are currently waiting for a bed in University Hospital Limerick 

30 patients on trolleys in Sligo Hospital today

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) daily figures show that University Hospital Limerick currently has the most amount of people in the country waiting for beds with 115 waiting in total today. 

Four people are currently reported to be waiting for a bed in Tipperary University Hospital and throughout the country, there are currently 562 people waiting for a bed.

The figures for the month of May show that University Hospital Limerick was by far the most overcrowded hospital in Ireland with 2,285 people waiting for a bed at some point throughout the month. The next highest figure was seen in Cork University Hospital where 1,105 people were report to have been waiting for a bed.

The HSE figures include patients waiting on a hospital trolley or extra bed placed in an inappropriate space in a hospital ward. INMO also counts patients placed on corridors or chairs, elsewhere in hospitals, waiting for admission to a bed.
