Tipperary drivers advised to expect delays on these Tipperary roads in October

Tipperary County Council has announced their intention to close two roads in the Nenagh Municipal District.

Nightly from 8pm to 5am from Thursday, October 10, to Sunday 20 October 20, 2024, the R-494-0 from Junction at R-496-13 (Roolagh) to the Birdhill roundabout will be closed for resurfacing works.

Alternative routes will be available for traffic travelling from Birdhill will be
diverted via the R-445-8 and then take a left onto the R-496-0 at Ayrestown towards Ballina.
 
Traffic travelling from Ballina will be diverted via the R-496-13/0. Traffic will then take a right onto the R-445-8 towards Birdhill Village.

The council say diversions will be clearly signposted, and local access will be facilitated.
 

From 8am, Monday, October 21, until 6pm, Sunday, December 1, 2024, the R-496-13 from Junction at Roolagh at R-494-0 for a 100m section will be closed for road reconstruction and utility works.

Alternative routes are available for all local traffic on the R496-13/0 travelling towards Ballina will be required to divert to the junction at Ayrestown with the R445-8 turning right for Birdhill - then divert northwards via the R494-0 towards Ballina.
 
All traffic from Ballina to the R496-13/0 will be diverted via the R494-0 southwards towards Birdhill and then via the R445-8 northwards towards the R496-13 junction at Ayrestown.
 
Diversions will be clearly signposted for traffic travelling towards Ballina.

From 8pm to 5am starting Monday, December 9, 2024, until Monday, December 16, 2024, the R-494 from Junction at R-496 (Roolagh) to Birdhill roundabout will be closed for resurfacing works.

Alternative routes are available for traffic travelling from Birdhill will be
diverted via the R-445-8 and then take a left onto the R-496-0 at Ayrestown towards Ballina.
 
Traffic travelling from Ballina will be diverted via the R-496-13/0. Traffic will then take a right onto the R-445-8 towards Birdhill Village.

Diversions will be clearly signposted.

 Objections can be made to the council until 12pm on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
