Countywide voting may now be divided but the same issues are faced by both north and south, even if they are not presented in the same examples.
One serious point of concern being raised by many local people throughout this election cycle has been supporting the more vulnerable members of our society.
Parents of autistic children throughout the county have been shouting for help for at least the past year about getting more spaces for autism units in schools and that they are being told there is no room for their children in local schools.
As a result, many have found themselves in very difficult situations trying to find space for their children.
Many have also expressed concerns for the elderly and the sick with St Conlon’s nursing home in Nenagh being an example of a serious point of contention in recent years.
Anna Treacy from the Save Nenagh Community Nursing Unit action group said: “They came for our new nursing home in March this year and we found out about this decision on Facebook .
“We the staff along with the residents, their families and the entire community were not consulted at any time.
“Stephen Donnelly, Simon Harris, and the REO Sandra Broderick said its to relieve the trolley crisis in UHL...if you look at the trolley numbers since they took and privatised our new unit, it has made absolutely zero difference in fact trolley numbers are higher than last year.”
