Despite a heroic performance in the tournament, Borrisokane’s Dylan Slevin eventually lost out in the PDC World Darts Championship following a nervy tie against world number 11 Dimitri Van Den Bergh.

The rising star give his all and in the end the 22-year-old lost out 3-0 in their second round tie despite the Irishman scoring over 95 and pushed his opponent all the way with a deciding leg needed in each set.

In the hunt for a place in the last 32 the momentum gained by a win over William O’Connor in the first round game on Friday last was lost at the Alexandra Palace in London.

The action continues across the channel over the coming days with the Belgian now pushing on in the championships to take on Callan Rydz.
