Happy new year and a big thank you to all our readers.
With the new year almost upon us it seems like the perfect and opportune time to thank all our loyal readers for continuing to make the Tipperary Star part of your weekly lives.
We have endeavoured, over the last twelve months, to bring you the best local coverage we can, ranging from sport to general news, politics, local authority projects, obituaries, general news - good and not so good -and of course all those colour stories which help to bring the community right into the heart of your home.
Our team in Friar Street has tried to reflect life in the Premier County through our many pages and we hope that we have achieved this by brightening up you, our readers, outlook. Image and word are the tools of the newspaper trade and we thank all those who submitted notes, news, stories and of course photos to our newspaper for publication.
Without your input, the local paper could not exist. We especially thank our loyal team of photographers whose outstanding work is featured in our pages each and every week. To those behind the lens, take a well deserved bow.
Social media has changed the news landscape forever and the Tipperary Star has had to adapt to these changes too. Our website tipperarylive.ie - a joint website shared between us and our sister paper The Nationalist - has become a major player in the online market.
We have seen huge growth in this market and our company Iconic Media is now the largest local media group in the country and has the biggest online footprint of any group. This is an incredible achievement and reflects the continuing move towards the digital era.
Our determination is to continue bringing the biggest and best local coverage to our readers - in print and online. But, we cannot do it without you.
We look forward to your continued support throughout 2023.
Happy New Year to all our readers.
