It was a fantastic night last Sunday for Nenagh as the New Institute Snooker club secured their 4th All Ireland Crown with a 3-1 win over Cork's Crucible Snooker Club.
Mark Walsh started the final in stunning fashion for the New Institute in the All Ireland A competition, comprehensively defeating his opponent Ryan Cronin 3-0, before the experienced figure of Tony Seymour followed up to put Nenagh in an commanding position with a 3-0 thumping of Daniel O'Regan.
New Institute talisman Brendan O'Donoghue followed up with an easy 3-1 win over Greg Casey up to put Nenagh out of sight in an unassailable position and although young Mark Gleeson lost his match 3-1 just before this, the north Tipperary men seen out the win while Paudie Kelly was leading 2-0 in his game over David Cassidy.
There was more good news after a very successful week in Killarney, as former professional player Brendan O'Donoghue won his first ever player of the tournament award.
