Shauna O' Keeffe is one of the best boxers in Ireland
There was great excitement in boxing circles across Clonmel with the news that Tipperary boxer Shauna O’Keefe signed up for the professional ranks.
Hopes are high that the Clonmel fighter, who is the only woman to face Katie Taylor in the national championships, will push on and achieve in the way that the Bray boxing icon and other Irish boxers have achieved in recent times.
Shauna is an experienced fighter who has represented Ireland at various competitions and has previously competed in the National Senior Elite Light Welterweight Championship at the National Stadium.
The Tipperary boxer was crowned National Elite Champion at 63kg previously and also won a medal for Ireland at the Feliks Stamm International Tournament recently.
Shauna will be managed by Waterford native Robbie Flynn - who has guided the career of Kate Radomska - and former world title challenger Kevin Mitchell. The will take the Clonmel boxer who has signed for a three-year deal
More details are expected before Christmas regarding her professional debut.
