All-Ireland Rugby League - Division 2A - Round 9
Cashel RFC vs Nenagh Ormond
Saturday, December 16 in Loughtagalla, Cashel @ 2.30 pm
Tipperary rugby will have a cracking showcase this coming Saturday afternoon when rivals Nenagh Ormond and Cashel RFC clash in a much anticipated Division 2A encounter in the All Ireland League.
This fixture always whets the appetite nicely for the rugby fraternity in the county, but it takes on even more importance when you add into the mix the fact that both teams are the top two teams in the division so far this year.
Nenagh Ormond are in an incredible vein of form this year as they sit on top of the Division 2A standings, currently unbeaten with a 100 percent record to boot with 36 points already notched.
Likewise, Cashel are performing close to their best too, currently sitting in second in the table with seven wins from their eight games, their only loss coming against Banbridge in Antrim in the first game of the season.
Nenagh have been in devastating attacking form this year and in their eight games to date, they have an average winning margin of just over 23 points, while they have scored an average of just shy of 32 points a game.
After a slow start to the season with the first day loss to Banbridge, Cashel have taken off and have seven wins on the bounce and rarely have the teams come into a derby in such a rich vein of form, and add into the mix that the teams usually play these games on a Friday night under lights, it alls adds to the spectacle on the day and it promises to be a cracking match on Saturday.
