Significant drop in taxi numbers in Tipperary according to NTA figures

Taxi numbers have dropped in most parts of the country including Tipperary according to recently released figures.

They have declined by 4% in the Premier County according to new figures from the National Transport Authority (NTA).

The number of taxi licence numbers in the country fell in 23 of 26 counties in the past five years, with County Monaghan seeing the most extreme drop in numbers, with 26 percent fewer taxis in the county since 2019.

The Taxis for Ireland Coalition have called for action from the NTA to increase licence numbers by 30 percent in the next three years to meet with demand around Ireland.
