Tipperary sees shocking increase in homelessness as per latest reports

Figures are almost double what they were this time last year

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has today releases its latest homelessness report with recorded figures from November 2024. 

In this document, Tipperary is reported to have 73 adults accessing emergency accommodation during the week 18-24 November 2024. This figure is up 7.5% from October's figure (68) for the county and a whopping 87% increase from the figures reported this time last year (39).

There were 325 adults accessing emergency accommodation in total in the South East region in November, 190 of whom were male while 135 were female.

The total amount of adults accessing emergency accommodation throughout the country for this period was 10,541.
