Nenagh train station changes opening times due to anti-social behaviour

Access to Nenagh train is restricted to a half hour before train departures and arrivals

Tipperary Tipperary Tipperary

Cllr Louise Morgan Walsh has posted an update on social media this week notifying the public that access to Nenagh train station will now operated on a restricted basis due to anti-social behaviour.

She said: "Access to the train station is now restricted to train operating times only. The platform will only open 1/2 hour before train departures & arrivals. This decision is regrettable and disappointing, but unfortunately, Irish Rail had to make this decision due to vandalism and anti-social behaviour, especially in the evenings. I will raise this with the Garda Superintendent on Thursday as well as many other issues around Nenagh and in some housing estates. I will also discuss with the Council Executive on an action plan for the train station and the urgency to develop a Transport Hub, so this area doesn't become derelict."
