North Tipp U13C Football Final

Portroe 2-8

Borrisokane 0-3

An impressive second-half display helped Portroe chalk up another U13C football title when they were too good for Borrisokane at Puckaun last Monday morning.

Indeed, they could have won by a much greater margin had they been more accurate in front of goal, especially in the first half, while Borrisokane keeper Paraic O’Sullivan made some great saves.

That being said, Borrisokane had their chances too, but the Portroe defence were much more alert. As a result, the scoring in the opening half was low, and it was 0-2 each at half-time.

The second half was a different matter as Portroe took charge, starting with a two-pointer by Ryan Hogan. Eoghan Donnelly replied with Borrisokane’s last score. From there it was all Portroe as goals by Oisin O’Halloran and Noah Howard helped form 2-3 in nine minutes.

There was a brief chance for Borrisokane when Eoghan Donnelly struck the crossbar, but Oscar O’Halloran hit back with his third point, and Charlie Horan finished the day with his second minor.
