National success for Tipperary snooker player at championships in Carlow

The recent success of New Institute snooker club in Nenagh continued over the weekend with another national title coming back to the North Tipperary club.

Nenagh player Noel Gleeson, won the U21 national final over the weekend, with the Puckaun native beating Wexford’s Adam Hanlon 4-1 to claim his second successive crown at the grade.

The victory came at the Irish amateur championships in the SBI Academy in Carlow over two days, with 7-time Irish amateur champion Brendan O’Donoghue making it all the way to the final but was beaten 7-1 by Kilkenny’s Davy Morris.
