Concern and anger in Tipperary after sulky horse 'left to die alone' on side of street

There is great shock and anger from the local community in Tipperary after the My Lovely Horse rescue was called to save a horse left on the side of the street.

A post on Facebook by the animal charity has gained a lot of attention from people with nearly 400 comments from concerned and angry locals.

The horse named Woody was found collapsed at the side of a road in Tipperary and he had been used for sulky racing until his body simply gave out, according to My Lovely Horse rescue.

"We received a call for assistance from An Garda Siochana and of course, we responded. When we arrived, he was dehydrated, emaciated, and completely worn out. He had been left there to die alone.
"With an intensive recovery regime, veterinary treatment and plenty of TLC, Woody made a complete transformation," the rescue said.
"Today, he is strong, happy, and thriving in a home where he is truly loved. His bond with Orianna is so special, together they’ve even gone on to win rosettes. Woody is just one of so many animals still being abandoned and abused across Ireland.
"We can only be there for them because of you. Every donation goes directly to vet bills, treatment, and rehabilitation. Without ongoing support, we simply can’t keep saving lives like Woody’s. Please donate if you can, help to be there for those who have no voice."
