Thepopular Christmas Market at Kickham Plaza in Clonmel will be held again this year
Following two hugely successful years, the much-loved Clonmel Christmas Market is set to return to The Plaza this December, promising an even more magical experience for visitors of all ages.
The two-day event will take place in the heart of the town on the stunning Kickham Plaza on 13th and 14th December. It will feature more stalls than ever before, a packed programme of live music, local choirs, bands and a special visit from Santa Claus, to meet children and spread Christmas cheer.

A wonderful variety of local craftspeople and artisans are returning to the Christmas market to display and sell their beautiful handmade creations. From delicate jewellery, dried flower arrangements, hand-carved wooden decorations, beautiful cards, decoupage, hampers, clothing, wreaths, skin care products, photo frames, hurleys, to festive candles, each stall will showcase the incredible talent and creativity found in our community.
Alongside the crafts, local food producers bring a mouthwatering selection of homemade delights, including freshly baked bread and cakes, local honey, food hampers, jams, cheeses, hot food, and seasonal treats made with love and care. The market is not only a place to shop for unique gifts but also a place to celebrate local talent and enjoy the warmth and flavour of homemade food with freshly brewed coffee during the festive season.
Adding to the festive spirit, indoor storytelling sessions will take place offering families a warm and atmospheric escape filled with Christmas tales. A skilled artist will also transform little faces into magical creations — from sparkling snowflakes and friendly reindeer to Santa’s elves and colourful Christmas trees.
The face painting adds an extra touch of fun and festivity, letting children fully immerse themselves in the holiday spirit. Parents love watching their children’s faces light up with delight, making it a cherished part of their visit to the market, a chance to meet Santa and a memory to take home along with the festive cheer.
Once again a highlight of this year’s market will be the participation of local secondary school students, who will exhibit and sell their mini-company and enterprise products. These talented young entrepreneurs have been working hard on their innovative creations since September, and the market offers them the perfect platform to showcase their hard work.
This unique opportunity allows students to gain first-hand experience in interacting with customers and established business people, helping them develop valuable skills in marketing, communication, and entrepreneurship. Their involvement highlights the importance of encouraging young people to think creatively and engage with the local business community.
In keeping with the true spirit of Christmas, a St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) collection will also take place over the weekend. Visitors are encouraged to contribute what they can to help support local families in need during the festive season.
