Funding application submitted for safety improvements in local Tipperary village

Tipperary County Councillor Declan Burgess has confirmed that the council has applied for funding under the Low-Cost Safety Scheme to benefit Clonoulty village

In a statement, Cllr Burgess said: "I am pleased to share that Tipperary County Council has submitted a funding application under the Low-Cost Safety Scheme for safety improvements outside the school and in the village centre.

"I expect an update in the New Year regarding this application, which I hope will allow us to progress with traffic-calming measures near the National School to improve safety for children and residents.

"This has been a big concern in Clonoulty, especially for parents and staff at the National School.

"I am also campaigning for the following:
• A new footpath and associated road works linking the village to the GAA grounds, with design work currently advancing and funding options being explored.
• Additional LED lighting outside the GAA grounds to improve safety and visibility.

"I will continue to work hard for Clonoulty and keep everyone updated," Cllr Burgess concluded.
