The Ireland U17 soccer team arrived home on Wednesday after reaching the last 16 of the World Cup in Qatar. Their run came to an end against Switzerland, but there was still plenty of pride in their performances.
There was strong interest in Tipperary as Roscrea’s Brody Lee was part of the squad and featured throughout the tournament. The Cork City midfielder played his part in Ireland’s progress and gained valuable experience on the world stage.
Family, friends and supporters in Roscrea followed the games closely, and there was a warm welcome home for Lee on Wednesday. His involvement was a highlight for Tipperary fans during what was a memorable campaign for the Ireland U17s.
