The government will continue to operate Dundrum House as an IPAS centre for the duration of its existing contract, the Taoiseach has confirmed. This follows a High Court decision earlier this week that overturned the Section 5 planning exemption permitting the former hotel to house refugees.

Local TD Mattie McGrath raised the issue in the Dáil, highlighting concerns over an unauthorised water treatment system at the property. Deputy McGrath called on the government to terminate the contract immediately, arguing that it should not have been granted in the first place.
Micheál Martin responded that the facility will remain in use while the contract is valid, emphasising that the government is committed to maintaining the arrangement until its conclusion.
