The Harty Cup quarter-final draw was made last Monday evening and it has thrown up plenty of interest for Tipperary supporters with three Premier schools still standing as the competition moves into the new year.

The fixtures will take place on Wednesday, January 7 and all three Tipperary sides have drawn tough but winnable tests.

Thurles CBS face De La Salle Waterford, a meeting of two respected hurling nurseries that should draw a strong crowd.

Thurles have been building quietly as they topped their group with little fuss and after a tough battle against this opposition in last year's quarter-final, they will face their toughest test of the year.

Nenagh CBS take on Midleton CBS in a tie that looks finely balanced. Nenagh have been every bit as impressive as their Tipperary counterparts in Thurles, losing out on top spot by an unusual rule to St Flannan's - against whom they blew a big lead in the first league game. Midleton CBS will be a tough nut to crack though, with the team packed with winning players from last year's Dean Ryan Cup final.

Our Lady’s Templemore go up against a strong St Flannan’s, a tough draw for the third and final Tipperary team involved.

Templemore have shown fight and work-rate through the group stages, and there will be confidence they can give a strong account of themselves, but Flannan’s are seasoned campaigners with county players littered throughout the team who know how to navigate knockout hurling.
