With over 45 stalls offering unique and beautifully made items, this year’s market promises to be the most vibrant yet.
The festivities kick off on Saturday 13th, with the market officially opened by Mayor Mr. Pat English at 11.30am.
MUSICAL PROGRAMME
The opening will be followed by a heart-warming musical programme, starting with the stunning St Mary’s Church Choir at 12pm, and an uplifting performance from St Peter & Paul’s incredible Primary School Band led by Yvonne Moran at 2.30pm.
Families with children are in for extra magic on Saturday, as the STAC Chapel on the Plaza will be open for Christmas Tales, a Christmassy afternoon full of stories and songs for kids, giving little ones the chance to enjoy festive tales in a cozy and enchanting setting.
TY Students from local secondary schools will also play a central role throughout the weekend.
PROJECTS
These young entrepreneurs will showcase their wonderful projects, get a taste of selling their products and first hand invaluable experience on how to interact with the general public.
The TY students will entertain the crowd with live performances, be on litter duty to help keep the Plaza pristine, and oversee the bucket collection for St. Vincent de Paul under the guidance of Ms. Coughlan.
Over €5,000 was raised in the last two years, and this year, the students hope to match or exceed that total for this very worthy cause.
Sunday brings even more festive cheer, beginning with a performance by a Ukrainian choir at 12pm, followed by the Community Choir singing a selection of Christmas Carols at 2pm.
As you explore the market, you’ll discover an exceptional range of stalls featuring handmade crafts, decoupage, dried flower arrangements, wood turning, handmade jewellery, personalised clothing, candles, handmade cards, Christmas wreaths, Christmas decorations, handmade hurleys, and countless other unique creations perfect for gifting.
Food lovers will delight in delicious cheeses, local honey, home baking, hot food including gourmet baked potatoes, fresh coffee, traditional hot punch, and beautifully curated food hampers.
For fun and festive memories, families can enjoy face painting and capture seasonal moments with professional family photos.
And of course, Santa will make a special appearance on both Saturday and Sunday from 2pm–4pm, ready to meet all the wonderfully behaved children of Clonmel.
Children need to hurry to the Plaza to avail of free chocolate sponsored by Clonmel Cash & Carry.
Whether you’re searching for unique gifts, enjoying live music, or soaking in the festive atmosphere, the Christmas Market on the Plaza promises a warm and magical weekend for all.
