The man in his 30s killed in a road traffic accident in Clonmel has been named locally as Julio Bettin
Friends of the young man who died in a road traffic accident in Clonmel have started a GoFundMe page to help meet funeral expenses.
The man who died in the fatal road crash that took place in Clonmel at 1.10am on Sunday morning has been named locally as Julio Bettin, who was from Brazil. His wife is due to give birth on December 24.

It is understood that the deceased has only been living in Ireland for a short while. He lived in the Knocklofty area outside of Clonmel.
“We are heartbroken to be raising funds for the funeral and urgent expenses of our dear friend Julio Bettin, who tragically passed away in a car accident on Sunday, December 14th.
Julio leaves behind his wife and children, including a baby he was so excited to welcome, as his wife is due to give birth on December 24th. Having only recently arrived from Brazil, Julio was the sole provider for his family, and his sudden passing has left them facing unimaginable grief and financial hardship,” said a message from Guadalupe Garcia who set up the GoFundMe page.

Julio Bettin, who was in his 30s, was killed in a two-vehicle crash that took place on the Frank Drohan Road between the Cashel Road roundabout and the Cahir Road roundabout on the Clonmel by-pass.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision
Julio Bettin was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was taken to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem will take place. The deceased was driving the car and a male passenger sustained minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured.
The road was closed after the accident from the Cahir Road Roundabout to the Heywood Road Junction on the N24.
Local diversions were in place and an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will be conducted.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
They are appealing to any road users travelling in the area between 12:30am and 1:20am, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make it available to them.
