Moyne Athletic Club enjoyed a historic day recently as their senior ladies’ team claimed the County Senior Ladies Cross Country Championship.
The winning team included Eileen McCullagh, who finished second overall, Sharon Cantwell in third, along with Louise Fogarty, Orla Healy and Mindy Doyle. The club also had strong representation in the men’s race, with John Renehan competing on the day.
Success was not limited to the senior races, with nine juvenile teams from Moyne AC taking part in the County Juvenile Cross Country Relays. Standout performances saw the Girls Under-12 team win their event, while the Girls Under-15 team finished in third place.

The club paid tribute to the Cantwell family and Jim O’Meara for providing the venue, as well as to the many volunteers who helped prepare, steward and clean up the course, describing their contribution as invaluable to the club’s success.
