Tipperary GAA superstars bring Liam MacCarthy cup to local business

Liam MacCarthy was in Tipp Town in the famous Irish House on Monday, December 15.

Earlier this year Arachas announced that it was reopening the Irish House as its Tipperary office after an extensive refurbishment meant that the building was back open to the public and 30 employees - who all live withing 30km of the town are working there.

Arachas is the largest nationwide Insurance broker in the country and employs 750 countrywide and Tipp Town is one of its 14 offices.

Conor Martin, Cappawhite GAA, and winner of both the U20 and Senior All Ireland hurling titles with Tipperary this year brought Liam to the Irish House and Conor will be working in the office from January 2026.

Conor was accompanied on the visit by U20 teammate, David Ryan, who plays locally with Arravale Rovers.

According to Daniel Hennessy, Regional Director and head of the office “I was delighted Conor and David took time to call into the “Irish House” with the 2 cups. The achievement of the Tipperary hurlers in 2025 has been remarkable and it is wonderful to have so many local players involved in both panels. We are looking forward to welcoming Conor to our growing team in 2026.

“The Irish House, and the investment in the famous building is an example of this commitment. We believe in supporting the local economies and are employing 30 local people, some of whom have relocated back to Tipp. All these employees support the local economy and in turn more local business.”

Arachas is actively involved in many parts of the local economy and Catherine Cranley, part of the local team won a nationwide “Arachas All Star award” in 2025 on the back of two separate fundings she secured for the Dillon Quirke Foundation namely, Ardonagh Community Trust – (€5,000) and Aviva Broker Community Fund (€20,000).
