Johnny sadly passed away earlier this year but his passion for this event was infectious, his charm and determination transformed it from a simple golf day into one of our most beloved traditions.

The Classic perfectly captured what Johnny stood for; bringing people together through sport, friendship, and unwavering community spirit.

This year, we continued his legacy with two great days of golf, fantastic craic, and the chance to celebrate a true rugby stalwart.

Johnny's family who were involved in raising funds for the classic, presented Martin Quinn with a cheque for €1,000 to support the work of South Tipperary Stroke Communication Group.

Speaking at the presentation, Martin Quinn, thanked the organisers and the Hannigan family for their generous donation.

Martin said that the work of the group is very important in creating awareness around the symptoms of stroke and that symptoms should never be ignored as 'Time is Brain' and that every second counts with stroke.

Martin went on to say that the group will once again be organising a National Conference on Stroke in 2026, and that it will take place in the Cashel Palace Hotel on Monday, April 27.
