Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault that occurred in Cahir, Co. Tipperary, in the early hours of this morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 1:40am on Saturday December 20 on on Abbey Street and Barrack Street.
A male, aged in his 20s, was treated by emergency services and conveyed to Tipperary University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Where he remains in critical condition.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
Any persons who were in the vicinity of Abbey Street and Barrack Street, Cahir between 1:15am and 2:00am on Saturday 20th December and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
