Local Tipperary secondary school plays our hard-fought All-Ireland volleyball final

This term has been one of outstanding success for volleyball in the Presentation Secondary School, Thurles, most notably for the U19 girls’ team, whose remarkable journey to the All-Ireland Final has secured them a special place in school and volleyball history.

The team qualified for the semi-finals, progressing to the semi-final, before finally advancing to the All-Ireland Final against Rockford Manor on December 16.

The final took place in the National Indoor Arena, Abbotstown, Dublin — a venue synonymous with some of Ireland’s greatest sporting achievements — making the occasion even more memorable.

The girls delivered an incredible performance on the day, showing immense resilience, skill, and composure on such a prestigious stage.

Despite a narrow defeat, losing 25–23 in the second set, their determination, teamwork, and fighting spirit were evident throughout, and they can be immensely proud of their achievement.

Their journey has firmly written them into volleyball history and will inspire future teams for years to come.

The school is incredibly proud of each and every player for their drive, passion, and commitment.

Special thanks must go to Ms O’Connor, whose dedication, time, and belief in the team played a vital role in guiding the girls to this historic final.
