Knockanroe Carpark.
Anger has been voiced locally in north Tipperary following the discovery of illegally dumped painting and decorating waste at Knockanroe Carpark, an incident that was highlighted on social media on December 29, 2025.

The dumping, which occurred at a popular amenity used by walkers, families and visitors, prompted strong criticism online.
The waste was left in a location that sees increased footfall during the Christmas period, when people return home and make use of local outdoor spaces.
One contributor online described the scene as an unwelcome sight at a festive time of year, writing: “What a beautiful sight to greet visitors home for Christmas, tourists and families out for fresh air….. Knockanroe Carpark this morning.”
Another social media user said the dumping was unlikely to have been carried out by someone from outside the area and argued that such behaviour is far more common than many assume.
They wrote: “Someone knows who did this..it isn't someone who lives a thousand miles away. It is a painter, handy man who is known and works locally. He/she knew where to dump, where no one was watching. We all act shocked and surprised when we see pictures of this level of dumping but it goes on every single day.”
The contributor also urged members of the public to report fly tipping when they encounter it, noting that Tipperary County Council can only respond when incidents are brought to its attention.
Knockanroe Carpark is regarded locally as an important recreational space, particularly during holiday periods. The incident has renewed calls for greater responsibility among contractors and continued vigilance by the public in reporting illegal dumping.
