RIP: Mark of respect as Tipperary fixtures postponed after passing of club stalwart

The Tipperary soccer community is mourning the passing of Seamus Houlihan, a former Chairman and Secretary of St Michael's FC, Tipperary, whose death has been met with widespread sympathy across the county.

As a mark of respect to the Houlihan family, the club confirmed the postponement of their scheduled Premier League fixture against Clonmel Town FC on Saturday, while  St Michael’s B Team Division 3 fixture against Cashel Town FC Juniors B was also postponed on Sunday.

Mr Houlihan was widely respected for his dedication and service to the club, having held key roles as Chairman and Secretary. His commitment to grassroots football and to the St Michael's community left a lasting impact on players, officials and supporters alike.

Reposing will take place at Whelan’s Funeral Home on the Bansha Road on Monday evening, January 5th, from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Requiem Mass for Seamus will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church on Tuesday, January 6th, at 11.30am, with burial afterwards in St Michael’s Cemetery, Tipperary Town.

St Michael's FC have extended their sincere sympathies to his wife Anne, sons Noel and Sam, and to the extended Houlihan family at this difficult time.
