Churches in Tipperary have asked locals to donate unwanted presents or food to the church, to then go to a local charity in the locality.

The Clogheen, Burncourt and Ballyporeen Churches made a call to parishioners this week to bring donations to their local church.

The notice said: "If you would like to consider placing wrapped presents in front of the crib/ toys unused and unbroken, biscuits, chocolates in date for next weekend masses for the feast of the wise men, January 6. All presents will be sent to a local charity."
