The MC for the presentation of the Annerville sports Awards, which are sponsored by Bulmers, was Tipperary United Sports Panel member Seamus McCarthy.

The awards were presented to the Tipperary amateur sports stars of the year in front of an attendance of 160 at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel.

Seamus McCarthy stated, “tonight is a night dedicated to celebrating the remarkable spirit of amateur sport - the heart and soul of our communities. It’s also about recognising perseverance, teamwork, sportsmanship and the countless hours invested by our athletes, mentors, families and volunteers. Amateur sport thrives because ordinary people do extraordinary things -ofteen unseen, often unsung - until nights like this.

“Heroism and great deeds are no strangers to Tipperary. We love our heroes and their exploits are enshrined forever in our hearts and minds.

“Tonight new heroes and sporting legends are born, and we are delighted to honour the full spectrum of talent that defines our great Tipperary sporting heritage.

“It is indeed humbling to be amid greatness again tonight and we welcome our wonderful award winners, many of whom have performed in locations from the Shannon to the Suir and from the Galtees to the slopes of Slievenamon.

“You have enthralled us with your performances, national and international, and we acknowledge the fame you have brought to your communities, county and country, and we congratulate you all for representing us so positively during 2025.

“You have now entered the realms of lore and legend and you have left us with memories that will last a lifetime”.

Seamus McCarthy said the Sports Panel was honoured to have the Chairman of Tipperary County Council, John Carroll, present at the event.

“John has a long history of community service and retains lifelong support for all our athletes, from the north of the county to the south.

“As a panel we continue to be indebted to Bulmers, our loyal sponsors, for their continued interest in and support for the awards.

“It has been a long, fruitful relationship, dating back to 1964 - the longest sporting sponsorship in the country - and is one we truly value and appreciate”.
